Introduction
Professor György Károlyi is both a civil engineer and a physicist. He has a part of his life outside the university, as witnessed by those with whom he plays board games on cutthroat level. On weekends he can be spotted on hills and in forests and also in canoe, but less frequently than he wishes for. In case he heads for the university, he often does that riding the bicycle. His area of research is nonlinear dynamics and chaos.
